In this session, our team will present the design and implementation of the national blockchain infrastructure with the purpose of strengthening the digital backbone of public sector services, with a focus on interoperability with European systems and cross-border integration. A central case study will highlight the use of this infrastructure within electoral processes, demonstrating how it supports transparency, security, and end-to-end verifiability throughout the election cycle.
The presentation will emphasize the multi-layered architecture of the ecosystem, composed of a core blockchain infrastructure and an Appliance layer. The Appliance layer represents a key integration component that acts as an intermediary between blockchain services and external applications. The purpose of this approach is to promote modularity and scalability, while enhancing performance.
As a complementary topic, we will also introduce a research initiative focused on ensuring image integrity through steganography combined with blockchain technology. The system enables users to digitally sign and verify images without relying on centralized storage or revealing image content, offering tamper resistance, user authentication, and traceable verification through a secure web platform and a local blockchain network.
